When John A. Milne BA(Hons), MBPsyS, Cert.FEd, SMIIRSM, ADI became involved in driver development and road safety following prior experience in industrial safety, his mission statement was "to provide friendly and approachable driver training that prepares clients for success with their driving and also to equip them for a lifetime of enjoyable and safe driving experiences".
John, in his role as a specialist in driving psychology has made contributions to the European Union CIECA project for supportive driver development, and has prepared papers on driver attitude and behaviour, cognitive behavioural training for drivers, driving risk assessments, visual acuity and driving, driving for the elderly and behavioural aspects of driving. He has recently been involved in post-graduate research at the University of Chester. John, as well being a fully qualified ADI for car and fleet training, is also a registered trainer for NDORS and has been actively involved in Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester Constabulary traffic offender courses, Motability, SaFED eco-driving schemes and MiDAS mini-bus training courses.

Fleet training for company drivers, skid control training (in conjunction with Staffordshire Police), speed awareness courses, driver profiling, professional witness statements for court proceedings, and refresher courses for all ages and abilities including senior drivers, and UK familiarization courses. We also provide HSE compliant driving assessments, psychological profiling, driving 'stress/frustration' management, coping with driving 'phobias and anxieties', post-accident/incident analysis, and 'saving your licence' driving assessments.
Working within the ethical framework of the Driving Standards Agency, British Psychological Society and Motor Schools Association of Great Britain 'Codes of Practice'; we are aware of the personal, cultural, and ethical dimensions of training interventions and how these may impact on the multifaceted needs of our clients.
As specialists in driving psychology we can act on behalf of individual drivers, the legal profession, companies, organisations and trade unions. In order to demonstrate to a court or other interested parties the underlying causes of an incident, we can prepare a ‘mitigation’ or ‘witness’ statements on your behalf in order to reduce the risk of disqualification or loss of livelihood.
